AUSSIE CURVES: DENIM

Standard

For this weeks Aussie Curves Challenge: DENIM, I have used my favourite black jeans from City Chic. They are the most comfortable and best fitting jeans I own. I’ve worn them for a night out, dressed up and casually with a t-shirt- so versatile. A well fitting pair of jeans are, in my opinion, an essential part of any wardrobe.

I teamed my black jeans up with a grey top from Debenhams (UK) and a flowing colourful kimono from Supre- which I picked up for $10 in the sale…BARGAIN! As you probably know, I lurvveeee my accessories and have worn a fab silver necklace which I recently found in a pharmacy!

AUSSIE CURVES: FLASHBACK

Standard

It feels like just the other day that I started doing the AUSSIE CURVES CHALLENGES. Being part of the community and  taking part in as many challenges as possible has been really positive for me. Not only have I got to paly with clothes (which I love) but the incredible AUSSIE CURVES community, which I see as a SISTERHOOD has contributed to me feeling more body positive than I have in forever! Thank you ladies.

I posted my first post on 8 November 2013 and haven’t looked back. During this time I’ve attended a fabulous AUSSIE CURVES catch up in Melbourne, meeting a wonderful group of women and I also attended my first official fashion show, The Curvy Couture Roadshow.

Without further a do…here are my favourite outfits from my posts to date.

CITY CHIC…I LOVE YOUR TUNIC DRESSES!

Standard

CITY CHIC is one of my favourite shops….great fashion for FABULOUS, CURVY girls (and I use the term girls to include women…ladies…babes- what ever you call yourself). In the previous few months CC has had some AMAZING tunics/ dresses in. You’ve got to know which ones I’m referring to…yes?. They have a zip down the front, have come in solid colours and also in prints, with an amazing neckline and puffy pocket like bits. So I need to pose a question… How many is too many for a girl to have??? I have four. A black one, a pink one, a leopard print one and a neon multi coloured one. I have actually had to stop myself from getting any more. They are SUPER COMFY and VERY FLATTERING.

Over the last couple of weekends I’ve had a couple of ‘events and worn one to each.

At the beginning of July,my hubby and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary! We went for dinner in Lygon Street and spent the night in Melbourne. We had a wonderful time and I felt SUPER SEXY in my black tunic/dress, worn with long black boots and accessorized with a fab hot pink and orange necklace from TS clothing and a hot pink clutch from Target.

Last weekend I went to a friend’s BACHELORETTE do at ‘La Di Da’ in Melbourne. It was excellent and I would recommend their bachelorette/ hen packages. I wore my leopard print tunic/ dress, again with my long black boots and a mixture of silver and gold accessories. I felt great and got some lovely comments.

Actually, I have a morning tea this Saturday and may just wear my pink tunic/ dress…watch this space!

What are you’re favourite items of clothing at the moment and why?

AUSSIE CURVES: LEATHER

Standard

I missed Aussie Curves: Date Night and didn’t want to make it 2 in a row that I missed, so here’s my Aussie Curves: LEATHER contribution – or to be more accurate, my PLEATHER contribution. Before I go any further I do need to own up and let you know you may have seen these pics before, but I do have an excuse…2 actually. Firstly, this week is totally taken up by being a ‘dance mom’, as it’s Eisteddfod time…and secondly, I don’t really have much leather/ pleather in my wardrobe!

During the recent City Chic sale I did however bag myself a fabulous pleather jacket – down from $150 to $75. BONUS!!! I love it and have worn it casually, on a night out and even to work. It’s been so versatile. One of the best bits of the jacket is the ‘frill’ round the bottom which makes it just a little bit different and works well with by derriere.

AUSSIE CURVES: POLKA DOTS

Standard

YES!!! POLKA DOTS!!! I LOVE POLKA DOTS!!!

This weeks Aussie Curves challenge, POLKA DOTS, is right up my street. I may just have to use more than one outfit’s pics…

For me, POLKA DOTS are timeless and versatile. My favourite POLKA DOT print is probably black & white.

These pics were taken last summer, in Melbourne (with this challenge in mind!).

TUNIC: CITY CHIC

The tunic is fab. It took me a little out of my comfort zone as it’s a bit shorter than I would usually wear, but I felt great in it.

Fairly recently I found a bargain Autograph dress on ebay, which I think makes a great work outfit. With winter on our doorstep, I plan on wearing my black knee-high  boots and black leather look jacket with the dress – I’ll be sure to post a pic when I do…

What do you think?

AUSSIE CURVES: TIME SAVER

Standard

TIME SAVER!

When it came to this week’s Aussie Curves challenge, TIME SAVER, my thoughts immediately went to my weekday mornings…a blur of having stayed up too late, pressed snooze on my alarm too many times, needing to get the kids to school and arrive at work looking presentable (it’s made me tired just thinking about it!)

For the purposes of this challenge I am going to use some work outfits. Before I do though, here are some of my time saver tips:

1) Hair – invest in some dry shampoo

2) Make-up – make sure you have a BB cream (moisturizer and tint in one!)

3) Glamour – a versatile pair of black sunnies and on trend bag ( these can add instant glamour to any outfit)

4) Jewellery – versatile statement earrings or necklace (something to finish the outfit off with)

My TIME SAVER look for work inevitably involves black pants or a black skirt, black shoes, a top, a jacket or a cardie. I am the queen of quick bag changes and often use them to add colour to an outfit along with a bright lippie.

Here are a couple of outfits I wore to work last week….

AUSSIE CURVES: PICNIC

Standard

This is my picnic post…and before I go any further, I have to say that I haven’t actually gone on a picnic, but have chosen an outfit I would wear to one. Those who know me, know that I love ‘glam’ and a bit of’ bling’, so it’s unlikely that I would be dressing down for a picnic.

One of the most important things for me when considering what I’d wear to a picnic was comfort- oh yes….and the fact I would in all likelihood be sitting on the floor!

Without further ado here are my pictures…

1    3   2  4

I have chosen my light weight Harem pants from MARKS AND SPENCERS, a cool strappy top from CITY CHIC, some statement earrings from PRIMARK, some thong wedges from SHOE ZONE and my fabulous VOGUE sun glasses(essential for sitting outdoors while sipping champagne and eating cupcakes- two of my favourite picnic musts!)
