AUSSIE CURVES: SEQUINS

Standard

    SEQUINS…

For somebody who loves bling and sparkles, this challenge made it very clear to me that my wardrobe is sadly lacking when it comes to sequins! My outfit was thrown together when I looked at my watch today and realised it was school pick up time…and I was STILL in my PJ’s after a cleaning session- it doesn’t happen very often, lol.

The top I’m wearing is from KMART- I’ve had it for ages and actually have another one in cream with gold sequins. The pants are from BEST & LESS. I’d call them cuffed harem pants. they are so comfy to wear (wish I’d bought another pair at the time!). The leather and bling thongs are from EVANS.

AUSSIE CURVES: BOHO

Standard

1BOHO copy

Well, this weeks Aussie Curves challenge, BOHO, has been a bit of a challenge for me. I tend to immediately think ‘hippie’…which is not me. So I started a bit of a session on the net and realised after a short while that BOHO is a lot of things and I ACTUALLY REALLY QUITE LIKE IT! (and have many pieces in my wardrobe which fit this style- I just never labelled them as being BOHO). As with all fashion styles you take what you like…the bits that suit you…the bits you get excited about and you leave the rest.

So, what do I like about BOHO??? For me it has to be the flowing materials, the different textures, the casual, thrown together, ‘effortless chic’ look and -surprise surprise- the accessories.

Here’s my interpretation…

I’m wearing a maxi dress from TARGET- the first item of clothing I bought when I moved to Australia. I love the strong colours. Target can be really hit and miss, in my opinion, but occasionally I have found a few gems.

To accessorize I have chosen a necklace and bangle made out of wood (I can’t remember where I got them from). I love handbags and for me they are an important part of accessorizing any outfit. The handbag is from NEXT.

My shoes are from NEW LOOK.

VALENTINE’S DAY… (WEEKEND)

This Valentine’s Day I got a lovely card and some beautiful red roses from my hubby. We usually only give each other a card, so the roses were a wonderful surprise!

We didn’t go out on Friday night as we had plans for Saturday night…a Masquerade Murder Mystery party. It was fantastic with everyone making an effort and getting right into the swing of things. Here’s a pic of hubby and me…

SHOPPING SPREE : HOLIDAY PURCHASES

Standard

HELLO!

It’s been some time since I posted…sorry, but I’ve been away! That’s right, 4 years after moving to sunny Oz, the family and I took a fabulous 4 week trip home to the UK. Now it goes without saying that family and friends are at the top of my ‘What I miss about the UK’ list, but I DO miss the shopping too – and boy did I shop!!! Let’s just say we brought back double the amount of cases we left with.

Clothes…shoes…make-up…handbags(more than 1 or 2!)…jewellery…

I think it’s only fair I share a few of my purchases…

I bought a new mascara called ‘They’re Real’, from Benefit and it is AMAZING. It makes you look like you are wearing ‘falsies’. It’s not waterproof which is what I generally go for as I tend to struggle with my mascara smudging under my eyes when it’s hot. I have worn it on a couple of nights out and it’s stayed put( so far so good).
