AUSSIE CURVES: YELLOW

Standard

yellow2 yellow 1YELLOW…YELLOW…YELLOW

YES…you’ve guessed it…this weeks Aussie Curves challenge is: YELLOW!

I love the colour YELLOW, but that’s not really too surprising as I love colour…full stop. Especially bright colours!  YELLOW makes me think of summer, daffodils, the sun- it’s a happy colour.

I decided to complete the challenge on Monday with a work outfit….and must have been so inspired, ended up doing it again today. I’ve recently told some people about my new blog and the Aussie Curves challenge and when I walked in today, I had loads of comments about my outfit and the yellow in it. So…. I’ve decided to post pics from both days(hope that’s not being too greedy).

AUSSIE CURVES- Black and White

Standard

BLACK AND WHITE…
This week’s Aussie Curves Challenge is black and white. Although it’s most definitely one of this season’s trends, it’s also, in my opinion TIMELESS. I am a confirmed fan of colour, but have to say that monochrome lends itself to a chic, sophisticated and  might I say, classy look.

I decided to complete the challenge using a work outfit…here goes… (excuse the backdrop-we have no garden to speak of…yet!)

Trousers: Be Me

               Top: Target

                      Shoes: Shoo Zone

I found the trousers last year at Be Me and was really excited when they fitted- my thighs and my waist!!! (I’ve actually found Be Me to be good in relation to trousers/jeans). The top comes from Target, early this season, and is really comfy to wear.

AUSSIE CURVES: Swimwear

SUMMER…SUN…SWIMWEAR!

Phillip Island 2011 Tankini from ‘Best & Less’ 2011

Well, it’s that time of the year again, when we start to think about swimwear. I have to say, for me, the prospect of shopping for and then actually wearing(in public…) swimwear has in the past made me feel a little sick. To be fair it’s still not one of the fashion area’s I’m totally in love with, BUT at 42 (my birthday was last week and I thought I was 43!!!! BONUS) I have decided to face my fears and actually do an AUSSIE CURVES: Swimwear post. The problem is the weather here has been horrendous (Gippsland, Vic). So even though I have not put on a ‘cozzie’ specifically for this challenge, I have decided to use one from 2011- I hope that’s Ok?!?

FASHION ON THE FIELD! AUSSIE CURVES

FASHION ON THE FIELD!

One of my favourite days out is Ladies Day at the Races. A good excuse to don a frock, a fascinator, some killer heels and spend the day with your girls. This year was my third time attending Traralgon Ladies Day. It’s something planned for ahead of time, allowing everyone to save for the ticket (we go all inclusive in the ‘Hats and Horses Marquee’), find or resurrect a frock and spend time planning your accessories…

This year the weather was on our side and we all had a FABULOUS day out. Good food, good company and lots of laughing- not to mention a bet or two!

SHOPPING…

SHOPPING...

I Love it!!!

Now, if you are anything like me… drifting from one clothes shop to another (and gathering bags as I go) is a wonderful way to spend a few hours…or a day.

The only problem I’ve faced and which has gotten me down from time to time, is what’s available for curvy/ plus size/voluptuous (call it what you will) ladies especially if fashion is important to you and frumpy is a dirty word!

So I decided to post a list of the clothing shops and sites, which I have found and like. Here goes:
CITY CHIC
AUTOGRAPH
BE ME
BEST AND LESS
DREAM DIVA
ESTELLE (AT MYERS)
EBAY
NEXT (UK ONLINE)
EVANS (UK ONLINE)
NEW LOOK (UK ONLINE)
YOURS CLOTHING (UK ONLINE)

…list to be updated…
